This model does come with all the necessary features you need:
- 12-cup coffee capacity.
- Water filtration for better tasting coffee (optional).
- Dual water windows.
- Top coffee filter holder.
- Pause ‘n Serve option.
Simple and easy to use. First, you’ll want to fill up the water reservoir. Featuring a dual window design, you’ll be able to see the exact level of water currently in your machine. Once done, you’ll want to open the top of the coffee maker to put in your coffee filter and coffee grounds.
Now, simply turn on the machine and wait for it to finish.
If you want to sneak a cup of coffee halfway through the brewing cycle, you’ll be able to remove the carafe and pour yourself a cup. This model automatically puts itself into pause mode, so you can serve yourself coffee – without the wait.
If you don’t put in filtered water, you can buy a filter for this model directly from Mr. Coffee. However, this is an optional feature.
Maintenance & Cleaning
If you choose to use the water filter, you’ll need to replace your filters periodically. Cleaning is fast and easy. The carafe can be cleaned with a sponge and water as well as the exterior of the machine. The coffee filter will lift out and can be cleaned using the same method.
When first getting this machine, I recommend running a cycle with white vinegar first. After, run two cycles with just hot water. This will remove the initial awkward taste of a new coffee machine.
Extreme Durability
This model is very inexpensive. While some users said this model only last 1 – 2 years, others have had it for much longer. For the price, it’s a bargain (more on that next).

- Leaks if filled too high.
The steam issue is not a big deal, but the leaking can be if you’re not careful. There are overflow holes in the reservoir. If you fill past this point, water may leak. Ideally, you’ll fill right to the 12-cup mark or slightly below. This will also produce the best-tasting coffee.
